Rainbow Chard is so beautiful to look at that its easy to forget that its real strength is as a vegetable. It is vitamin rich and nutritious and one of the easiest of all vegetables to grow. It only takes about 35 days until baby leaf harvest and 60 days to mature harvest. A prolific grower with a long cropping season, it tolerates poor soil and inattention.
This rainbow mix provides shades of magenta, gold, red, white and green stems topped with green or dark maroon leaves, often with contrasting deep red veins. Not only colorful, the stems and leaves provide delicious flavor packed with nutrition. A welcome addition to vegetable gardens, flower beds and containers.
With its ornamental leaves and stems, it looks just as good in containers and borders as the vegetable plot.
