The stunning purple pods are easier to spot when picking! Bush type plant produces heavy yields of 5-8" long purple beans that are stringless when harvested young. Germinates well in cool soil, and is resistant to bean beetle. Kids love these magical beans - they turn green when cooked!!! Excellent fresh, canned, or frozen. A heirloom variety from Louisiana, USA.

~ planting ~

When to sow outside: RECOMMENDED. 1 to 2 weeks after average last frost and when temperatures are warm. Note: In very hot summer areas such as the South and Southwest, sow in March for June harvest, and August for late September harvest. When to start inside: Not recommended

~ harvesting ~

Expect your first beans about ten weeks after germination. Daily harvesting improves production; for best flavor and tenderness, pick the beans when they are no larger than a pencil in thickness, or from 4-8" long. Serve or preserve the same day you harvested them for the freshest taste. When cooked, these beautiful purple beans will turn green.

The beans arrived quickly and were nicely packaged. I'll be planting them today. Also, thank you very much for the free Borage seeds. I'm not familiar with Borage but I'll plant them as well and be surprised!❤️🌸😁
