View full details

An All America Selections winner in 1938, and still very popular because it is firm, creamy and so tasty! This award-winning squash is still a favorite, and for good reason! Thick, firm, fine-grained delicious squash is ready to harvest in just 45 days! Versatile summer squash can be eaten raw, pickled, or cooked in innumerable ways including in sweet breads. Best picked at 4" - 7", or smaller for chic, “baby” squash. If left on the vine, will grow so big that it will affect the orbital spin of the earth. 15+ Organic seeds.

~ planting ~

When to sow outside: RECOMMENDED. 2 to 4 weeks after average last frost and when soil temperatures have risen above 60° F. When to start inside: Not recommended except in very short season climates, 2 to 4 weeks before average last frost. Sow in individual pulp pots that can be planted directly in the ground.

~ harvesting ~

Harvest when squash is 2" - 3" long for “baby” vegetables, and 4" - 7" long for general use. When left to get larger than 7", the seeds get hard and tough and the squash gets pithy.

shipping was fast. I haven't been able to plant my yellow squash yet because we're expecting one more cold snap, but I've used seeds from this company before and they're always great.... although, I could give a better review if I had more time to plant them and see how they sprout but Etsy makes these businesses push for reviews before we can even try the seeds.

Wow I planted 5 of these squash seeds on Monday afternoon 4/18/24 and attached is a photo I took of them today exactly 5 days later. WOW!!!! My dad is so excited. He is 83 and has always had a garden and he said he has never seen anything like it. We are looking forward to a bountiful harvest.
